NZAMT online support for NCEA L1 Planning and Assessment
This term, NZAMT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, have presented online workshops to support teachers in planning and assessing the new NCEA L1 standards.
These workshops were recorded and you can now access these from the link given below.
There were 2 workshops:
The planning workshop was about an hour long
The assessment workshop was about 1.5 hours long

All the resources talked about in the recordings are still all available to use.

Maths Week is a major event that is held each year, having been first held in 1998. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the New Zealand Association of Mathematics Teachers, a number of resources are written and made available to teachers and students in Years 1 – 11.
The aims of Maths Week are:
to encourage students’ interest in mathematics and statistics
to give teachers resources that they can use in the classroom, particularly material that requires some research and which may not be readily available to them, or that can be used electronically in class
to show the pleasure that mathematics can provide and some of the everyday places where mathematics and statistics can be used
to give teachers material that can provide extension.
Maths Week 2024 will be held between Monday 12 August and Friday 16 August.

NZAMT18 National Mathematics and Statistics Conference
The Northland Mathematics and Statistics Teachers Association are pleased to announce that NZAMT18, the National Mathematics and Statistics Conference will be proceeding as planned in 2023 in Whangarei.
The dates of the conference are 3 - 5 October.
